Philanthropy & Purpose

fashion with heart

At House of Perna, giving back is not an afterthought—it’s at the very heart of what we do. From the very beginning, our mission has been to use fashion as a force for joy, authenticity, and positive change.

Over the years, we’ve proudly supported more than 100 nonprofit organizations, both locally and nationally. Whether through donations, partnerships, mentorship, or creative collaborations, our goal has always been the same: to lift others up and help build a stronger, more joyful world.

OUR CONTRIBUTIONS & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

  • COVID Response – We launched a “Buy One, Donate One” mask program, donating thousands of masks while keeping factories open. Amanda partnered with Hearst Publications, creating tutorials and free patterns that empowered people to stay safe and even earn income during uncertain times.

  • Literacy & Local Culture – Amanda co-chaired Laugh with the Library, raising funds to expand access to literacy and foster community through joy and education. We also proudly support the Delray Chamber Education Fund and the Child Literacy Coalition, because knowledge and creativity should be accessible to all.

  • Breast Cancer Awareness – We donated a handcrafted couture bra and attended Go Pink, helping fund breast cancer research and awareness. Amanda also chaired Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, rallying support for women and families navigating this difficult journey.
  • Leadership & Service – Amanda has proudly served on the board of the Greater Delray Chamber of Commerce, helping to strengthen and celebrate the creative economy of our community. She also sits on the board of the Achievement Centers for Children and Families, where she supports youth and family development initiatives.

  • Habitat for Humanity ReStore – We’ve partnered with Habitat to create a curated corner of special finds, blending design with purpose. We’ve also donated backstock of House of Perna products to raise funds that directly support the building of new homes for families in need.

  • YMCA of Boynton Beach – Amanda proudly serves on the board of the Boynton Beach YMCA, currently chairing its 25th Anniversary Gala, raising critical funds to support programming and opportunities for local families.

  • Community Creativity – Amanda has been a huge supporter of the Witches Ride, donating time and supplies to host a witch hat decorating workshop for the community.
  • Celebrating Real Women – For three years, Amanda has emceed and styled “real people” models at the PCMA Fashion Show, proving that authenticity is the most powerful form of style. She also helped create a fashion show at Alt Summit, showcasing real women as models, further highlighting her belief that fashion belongs to everyone.

  • Palm Beach on the Global Stage – Partnering with Discover The Palm Beaches, Amanda helps showcase the importance of Palm Beach fashion to a global audience.

  • Mentorship – For the past several years, Amanda has worked closely with Lynn University, mentoring students in their fashion and retail program. She has also mentored more than 100 students who have gone on to work for prestigious fashion houses. For us, mentorship is one of the most meaningful ways to ensure the future of fashion is bright, inclusive, and innovative.

Speaking & Empowerment – Beyond fashion, Amanda travels the world giving keynote talks about living authentically in color, inspiring audiences to embrace joy, individuality, and boldness in every aspect of life
