We grew up. Dressing up didn't have to.

Before there is a dress, there is an idea.

Sometimes it's a flower. A place. A memory. A combination of colors that has no business looking so beautiful together, until suddenly it does.

Amanda begins by creating original artwork, developing the prints and color stories that give each collection its identity.

Then comes the part that turns imagination into something you can actually live in.

The fabrics. The silhouettes. The proportions. The movement. The way a sleeve falls, a skirt catches the breeze or a print transforms when it's draped across the body.

It's a process that involves many talented hands, technical expertise, experimentation and countless decisions most people will never see.

We think those decisions matter.

Because a garment should be just as beautiful in the details as it is from across the room.

We believe in making fewer things, more thoughtfully.

Our collections are created in small batches, with original prints, considered fabrics and the kind of design details that make a piece feel special long after the first time you wear it.

We care about craftsmanship because we know how much skill goes into making something beautiful.

We care about individuality because we don't believe every woman should look the same.

And we care about longevity because the best clothes become part of your life.

We love the idea that something created in our atelier might become part of a family's photographs, a wonderful vacation, an important celebration or an otherwise forgettable Tuesday.

That's when a garment becomes something more.

There is something about living near the sea that changes your relationship with color.

The light is different. The flowers seem impossibly bright. The architecture has personality. Life spills outdoors.

Our home in Delray Beach, Florida, has become an important part of the House of Perna story.

But our imagination has never stayed in one place.

We find inspiration in art, travel, vintage treasures, unexpected conversations, beautiful interiors, remarkable women and the tiny details most people walk right past.

Some of those ideas become paintings.

Some become prints.

And some become dresses that have absolutely no intention of being overlooked.

We don't design for one destination, one age or one kind of woman.

We design for the many wonderful ways a woman can live.

A fashion house isn't built in a season.

It's built through years of drawing, designing, learning, making, changing, starting over and believing in an idea long enough to see what it can become.

Since 2012, House of Perna has grown through collections, collaborations, creative partnerships, fashion shows and the relationships we've built along the way.

We've celebrated remarkable milestones.

We've also faced the kind of challenges that don't make it into the beautiful campaign photographs.

A devastating shipping-facility fire destroyed a year's worth of work. There have been unexpected setbacks, difficult decisions and moments when starting again was the only option.

But the heart of the House has never changed.

We still believe in the value of an original idea.

We still believe skilled hands deserve to be celebrated.

And we still believe that making something beautiful is worth the effort, especially when it brings a little happiness into someone else's life.

A beautiful dress is a wonderful thing.

But the stories that come with it are even better.

The woman who wore House of Perna to celebrate a milestone. The friend who bought a piece because it reminded her of someone she loves. The customer who comes back years later wearing one of our earliest prints.

The artists, makers, students, collaborators and friends who have helped shape our world.

You are the reason this House feels like a home.
